After Zambia our merry little band of travelers headed to Malawi. The focal point of Malawi is Lake Malawi which is 365 miles long. That is why it is known as the “year long lake.” It is the 9th largest lake in the world. In Africa it is the third largest and second deepest lake in Africa.
The largest lake in Africa is Lake Victoria and the deepest in Africa is Lake Tanganyika. But for those who have aquariums it is a very important lake as It is home to more species of fish than any other lake, including about 1000 species of cichlids a very popular fish in fresh water aquariums.
