Explorers Club Hosts East Africa Conservationist Stefanie Powers

As Chairman of the SoCal Chapter of the Explorers Club I am afforded wonderful opportunities to meet amazing people. On Saturday my wife and I hosted an event at our home for actress, conservationist, author and overall amazing woman Stefanie Powers.

Stefanie talked about her incredible life including the extraordinary nine-year relationship she shared with legendary actor William Holden. Holden introduced Stefanie to the magic that is East Africa and his Mount Kenya Game Ranch. His work in East Africa conservation and preservation of endangered species began long before the issue became popular. He pioneered the concept of a game ranch in Kenya.

After his death, Stefanie Powers established the William Holden Wildlife Foundation to carry on with his passion and his legacy. She has now written a book about this and the rest of her life called Hart to Hart. It was a great evening!
