A few days ago I returned from a great trip to Tanzania (I go every year), Kenya (to build a water well for the women of the Ongata/Rongai), and then on to Italy where I had the good fortune to spend 5 glorious days celebrating my 60th birthday with my beautiful wife and 2 amazing children.

2 weeks after planning this trip, making reservations and buying non-refundable airplane tickets I received notice of a wonderful honor. I was one of 3 U.S. tour operators selected by the Kenyan Tourist Board as their guest to attend a conference entitled “Magical Kenya Travel Expo” which is an international exhibition for the purpose of raising the profile of Kenya as a tourist destination.

So I am literally returning from Africa, spending 6 days at home and then turning around and flying back to Africa. For some people this may seem like a crazy idea but for me I love it. Besides being a great honor it gives me another opportunity to be in Africa and learn more about what Kenya has to offer. You can’t complain about that!
